TIME/SPACE

This flash experiment loads a video, and displays it while reversing time and space in realtime.

The blue frame in the picture above is the first frame of the video. The white arrow indicates the direction of time as the movie flips through it's frames during regular playback.

The green frame is the first image you get when you go throught the "video cube" from right to left. The time and x axis have now been swapped, resulting in a radically different set of images.

I'm looking for new videos to try this effect on. Since resolution on the time axis is a problem (only 24 samples per second with with film) I'm above all interested in things shot with a high speed camera. roy[dot]tanck[at]gmail[dot]com

Usage

Type the filename of the movie you want to process into the input box. Currently, the following files are available.

• aeon.swf (868KB)
• nemo.swf (855KB)
• bsg.swf (1.2MB)
• outofsight.swf (1.2MB)

Controls:

	Preview the video
	View video from left to right (x and time axis swapped)
	View right to left (x and time axis swapped)
	View top to bottom (y and time axis swapped)
	View bottom to top (y and time axis swapped)
	View from front with sine wave through time
	View from top with sine through height
	toggle fullscreen (on by default, recommended)
	Stop and unload the video. This frees up system memory.
